Guide and practice for your work

Start with Claude on a task from your work

Prepare a source, example, and desired result, and try editing and delivery on a real task.

What will you get?A small task you've reviewed and instructions you can return to next time.

Let's understand the idea

Opening Claude and trying a general question makes it hard to see where it can help. Choose a current task: review a draft, understand a file, prepare a report, or build a simple tool. Prepare the source and an example of the result you mean.

Start with a small part and check that it understood the requirements. Request a specific edit, then open the file or interaction if that's the deliverable. A project gathers recurring context, and a skill saves your approach. Choose Artifacts or task tools based on your needs and account availability.

Examples to expand the idea

A master's student has a draft of the first chapter and their supervisor's comments. They upload both to Claude and ask it to organize the comments, with the relevant paragraph beside each. They edit the draft themselves, then request only a language review without changing their ideas.

  • Review a draft

Define what to preserve and the problem to fix, with a suitable example.

  • A small interactive tool

Try a calculator with known inputs and rules. Test it before sharing the link.

  • Claude Code when you need it

If your work is in a code project, use the Claude guide to choose the right environment instead of assuming a conversation provides access to your device.

Apply it to something of your own

  • Did it work on the right version?
  • Did the edit solve the problem?
  • Was the deliverable actually opened?

If there's a problem, name the unsuitable part, show an example, and request a specific edit.
