Let apps talk to each other
Some work repeats the same steps: someone fills out a form, you move their details to a spreadsheet, send them a message, and add them to a tracking table. These steps can happen automatically, with AI as a step in the middle: summarizing, classifying, or writing a reply.
Notion inside the conversation
Claude and ChatGPT connect to Notion. After connecting, you can say “Save these ideas to the content plan page in Notion” or “Get the overdue tasks from the projects database.” Set up the connection in the app settings or Connectors, as explained in the guide to connecting your apps.
Zapier and Make: thousands of apps
Zapier and Make connect apps without coding. You choose a trigger, such as a completed form, an incoming email, or an added row, then the steps that follow. They include an AI step to write, summarize, or classify.
You can also connect Zapier to Claude or ChatGPT, so ChatGPT or Claude itself can take actions in the apps Zapier connects to.
| Starts when | AI does | Then |
|---|---|---|
| A customer fills out an inquiry form | Classifies the inquiry and drafts a reply | It is recorded in a spreadsheet and you receive an email |
| A student submits an assignment in Drive | Summarizes the answer and compares it with the criteria | It is recorded in Notion for review |
| An email arrives containing a specific word | Extracts the task and deadline | A task is created in the calendar |
Start with one automation
- Choose something you do every day with the same steps.
- Write it down step by step on paper.
- Build it in Zapier or Make, or ask ChatGPT or Claude to explain how.
- Test it on one example, and open each step to check that it worked.
Copy the prompt as it is, or tailor it with your details first.
