How can you create AI presentations with the same quality every time?

Watch the lecture, prepare the slide content before designing, define your audience and brand identity, and choose how to build and deliver it.

Start with the problem

Why does the result change each time?

We have all needed to make a presentation: for work, a lecture, a discussion, or a portfolio. Previously, you would search Google and learn PowerPoint or Canva, which took considerable time and effort.

Now it takes a few simple steps, but one mistake keeps recurring.

Many people give AI the topic and say, “Create a professional presentation.” That asks it to do about a hundred things in one prompt: prepare the content, divide it into slides, choose each slide’s title and contents, decide whether it needs an image or table, and finally design it.

The tool guesses all of this, so the result may be good or far from what you had in mind. If you repeat the same prompt ten times, you will not know how many slides each attempt will produce, how the text will be written, or what the design will look like.

Be the architect

Between your content and the final design is a step many people overlook: preparing the presentation. When you prepare it yourself, you define the result instead of the tool.

The first step

Content can come from three places

Let’s simplify it: a presentation is content you want to show in an organized, attractive way so the audience can understand it easily. That gives us three things: content, preparation of that content, and a design that presents it.

The first question is: where is this content coming from?

  • Content you have: A book, file, lecture, or several files you want to turn into one presentation.
  • Just a topic: You write the topic and AI prepares the content from its knowledge.
  • Research: Ask it to research the topic and gather information, then turn it into a presentation or combine it with your files.

Any of these approaches works. What matters is knowing the content is still raw and not yet ready for design.

The step that makes the difference

Prepare the slide draft before designing

Before requesting any design, answer the questions that shape the presentation: who is it for? How should the content be worded? How many slides? Should it be more formal or more familiar to the audience?

A teacher’s presentation for elementary students differs from a university lecturer’s, a researcher’s master’s presentation, or a content writer’s portfolio. Each needs to define their audience and message, then adjust the style accordingly.

Then ask the tool only for a draft: the first slide has this title and content, the second has a table, and the third has an image. Review the sequence and wording, and make any necessary changes.

Once you like the draft, you have two choices: ask it in the same chat to turn it into a presentation, or take it to another tool.

Using Gemini Notebook, ChatGPT, Claude, or Canva will not change the content itself because it is ready. Only the look will differ.

Look and brand identity

A one-time presentation or recurring work?

You do not have to follow this workflow every time. If you rarely make presentations, you do not need a fixed system or a consistent visual identity. A ready-made template will be enough.

But if presentations recur in your work, such as lectures you give every week, you will want them to share the same identity: logo, colors, and writing style. Then comes the question: “But I do not know how to describe my style.”

The solution is simple. Upload an old presentation you like to any language model and ask it to write its Design System: colors, fonts, formatting, and writing style. You can keep this guide and use it in any tool.

Make the brand identity a file you can take with you

Save this guide and the logo in one file. Whichever tool you use, upload this file alongside the content to apply the same brand identity without explaining it again.

You can take it a step further and turn the file into a Skill. For example, I have a presentation Skill containing my Design System, writing style, past presentations, and logo. Calling it up on any platform saves me a great deal of time.

Before you start

Which format will you deliver?

Most presentation tools offer several formats. Choose based on what you will do with the presentation:

  • PowerPoint: If you will edit it or present from your computer.
  • PDF: If you will send it to someone to read or print it.
  • Web: The presentation acts like a small website with animation, suitable for sharing through a link.

After the presentation is generated, you will probably need changes: an extra slide, different wording, or a new order. Make your changes, then download it in the format you need.

Tools

Gemini Notebook: from sources to presentation

Gemini Notebook works only within the sources you upload. You can ask questions about them and turn them into many outputs, including a presentation. When requesting a Slide Deck, you choose:

  • Presentation format: A Detailed Deck has more text and detail, suitable for someone reading alone. Presenter Slides contain only key points, suitable when you will explain them.
  • Language: You can choose Arabic.
  • Length: Short, normal, or long.
  • Sources: Select them individually, or choose a Label grouping all the topic’s sources at once.
  • Description: Write who the presentation is for, what to focus on, and the style you want.

The sources can be raw content that Gemini Notebook prepares and designs, or ready, reviewed content that only needs design.

Keep in mind that Studio has usage limits. If you create many outputs in a row, it may ask you to wait a while.

Gemini Notebook designs from your selected sources. A useful approach is to upload your brand identity file as a source and select it with the content. It can then take the colors, logo, and wording style from it.

The more precise method: the draft as a source

  1. Select the topic sources and brand identity file.
  2. Ask for a slide draft in chat and review it.
  3. Save the final draft as a Note, then convert it to a Source.
  4. Request a Slide Deck using both the draft source and brand identity file.

This keeps the presentation structure under your control and brings the result much closer to what you have in mind.

Edit through descriptions

You cannot manually edit text inside the slides. Describe the change you want in the wording, design, or colors, and it applies it. You can also delete or reorder slides, open and browse the presentation slide by slide, share a link, or download it as PDF or PowerPoint.

For step-by-step Slide Deck settings, see the Presentation and Infographic lecture in the free Gemini Notebook course.

Tools

AI agents: Genspark and Manus

An ordinary language model such as ChatGPT or Gemini is like a brain that thinks and answers your question. An agent is the same brain with hands and feet: you give it a complete task, and it carries out the steps itself until it reaches the result.

Presentations were among the early uses that showed agents’ strengths. On websites such as Genspark and Manus, the presentations section offers many Templates. Choose a template you like and provide your content, and it creates a presentation in the same style.

Keep the style you liked consistent

If you like a presentation, you can keep it as your own Template and apply its style whenever you upload new content. In Manus, for example, you can upload your PowerPoint Template, and it follows the same Layouts, colors, and fonts.

An even stronger approach is to upload your Skill or brand identity file. It then applies your colors, logo, and fonts, plus your slide wording style, without you explaining everything again.

  • Editing: Request changes in the conversation, or download the file and edit it yourself.
  • Delivery: PowerPoint or PDF. Some websites also provide a Web version to present in the browser.
  • Limits: Agents have usage limits that reset periodically. If your presentation is large, prepare the draft first instead of using your attempts on experiments.
Tools

Google Slides and Canva: for manual editing

The tools we used to make presentations in now have built-in AI. Their main advantage is that you can manually edit every slide afterward, rather than only describing changes.

Gemini inside Google Slides

  • A full presentation: Ask it to create a presentation from scratch, or mention Google Drive files to turn into a presentation, specifying the number of slides.
  • The same style: Choose an old presentation you created, and any new slide or image follows the same visual style.
  • A new slide: Ask for one editable slide or an image. It follows your presentation’s colors and font, and you can add it with Insert as new slide if you like it.
  • Images and infographics: Request an image or infographic for a particular slide from the same workspace.
  • Redesign a slide: Want a new look for an old presentation? Ask to redesign it one slide at a time, compare the new and old versions, and choose.
Keep this in mind when editing

The redesigned slide usually comes out as an image, so you cannot manually edit its text. If you find a misspelled word, ask for a new version.

Some features also reach paid plans first and may start in English before Arabic. Test them on your presentation before relying on them.

Canva offers the same approach: AI generates the presentation, then you manually edit the design, fonts, and elements.

Choose your tool

You do not need to master every tool

You need one or two methods that produce the result you want. Start with your needs:

If you need toStart with
A presentation from files and sources you haveGemini Notebook
A ready-made style quickly and with little effortAn AI agent such as Genspark or Manus
Full manual editing of every slideGoogle Slides or Canva
The same identity in every presentationA Design System file or skill to upload with any tool

Interfaces, plans, and limits change quickly, but the method stays the same: content first, then design.

The practical takeaway

The workflow in 4 steps

  1. Content: Your files, a topic you ask AI to prepare, or research that collects the information.
  2. Preparation: Turn the content into a slide draft: audience, slide count, and each slide's title and content.
  3. Identity: Define colors, fonts, logo, and style using a reference file, skill, or ready-made template.
  4. Generation and editing: Create the presentation in a suitable tool, edit it, and download it as PowerPoint or PDF.

There is no single right method and wrong method. What matters is getting the result you want with the least effort and highest quality.

Lecture task: create a presentation you actually need

Choose a real presentation you need for work, studies, or a lecture you will teach. Avoid a random practice topic.

Steps to follow

  1. Write one sentence: who is the presentation for, and what should it communicate?
  2. Prepare the content from your files or research.
  3. Ask for a slide draft and review it before any design.
  4. If presentations are recurring work for you, extract the Design System from an old presentation you like.
  5. Choose one tool and use it through to the end.
  6. Edit the slides that need it, and download the presentation in the appropriate format.

Summary

Content first, then design

When you only tell the tool “Make a presentation,” you leave it to guess everything. But when you prepare the content, define your audience, and establish your identity, any tool can produce a result close to what you have in mind, and you can repeat it.

I look forward to seeing your presentations.
